I was dying my hair black for a while. The last time I dyed it was in April. I've been wanting to go a little lighter, like medium brown. Do you think it'd turn out ok? Not sure if the black dye is out completely but it definitely has faded to my natural color. Just don't want to end up with light roots and dark ends from my virgin hair. Any suggestions?

What is your natural color?
I think if your color and the faded are pretty close and you,ll dye them with a dye at 4 level, there shouldn,t be any problem:-)

My natural color is very dark brown. The black dye has completely faded. I just didn't know if the previous dying would make it harder to go lighter

The color is still there, whether or not it's faded. Lightening all over you'd most likely end up with 3+ colors root to tip, many more if you did the black all over each time. Please seek a professional.
