Fashion: feelings on crop tops?

I've been seeing tons of really adorable crop tops, or tops that would end around your rip cage , how do u guys feel about them? Are they classy/trashy? I know it takes a lot to pull them off , but I hesitate to get some because I don't kno whether I find the showing off of my midriff comfortable- what do you think?

I usually wear mine with an undershirt underneath, I don't really like the look as much without it. They're cute though!

If you're not comfortable showing off your mid-section, don't go for it.

Personally, I wouldn't wear one.

I love 'em!! I work hard to maintain my abs so sometimes I like showing off my hardwork. Though when I wear them I keep everything else covered (no shorts or skirts...just a pair of jeans and flat shoes).

Trashy! unless like Shelley you've got hard work to show off or are in your early teen years I would suggest staying away with them. Maybe it's just me, but they scream "slut-appeal" and not sex appeal.

I feel that they can look good if you are wearing it with some high waisted shorts or maybe maxi skirt. But, if you have a great body like Shelley mention then I would too, I would also wear an oversize cardigan to feel more secure. I also feel that its a bit of slut-appeal like Catherine mentioned. Just try to dress it nice and it won't look so bad! (:

I agree with Rina about wearing them with high waisted shorts or a maxi skirt. I think they only look good if they give off a really nonchalant, effortless look, in a really non slutty way, making every other part of your outfit quite modest(high waisted pant/short, long skirt, sweater, etc. and NEVER with a heel). I also like when they're long enough to not show skin(or barely show skin) in a relaxed pose, but with any movement you catch glimpses of skin. I personally think they would look horrible with an undershirt underneath it... yuck.

But hey! if you have the right attitude, you can pull anything off. I'm a firm believer in trying everything you want to and never caring about what other people think about it.

Not that I recommend just anyone wear a crushed velvet, tight crop top, but this is how I would style a crop top if I was to wear one... that length with that high rise in the bottoms. (disregarding the tights and heels though)
