I've been contemplating whether to go through with having dread locks. What are the pros and cons and are there any certain products I would need? This is my hair naturally but I'd like some change, thanks for any and all input.

Deadlocks can be a lot of work to maintain in the beginning but can be very rewarding once you pass the stage where your hair has to mat up and lock together and this process is different from person to person because of hair texture some hair textures lock a lot faster than others.Now once you have passed the stage of allowing the hair to lock congratulations your hair freedom has arrived you can allow it to just naturally grow out or you can have it done in all types of awesome hairstyles I do my husbands hair every two weeks here are some photos.

I use a product called Jamaican Lime and Twist in his hair they have locking gel as well as shampoo and conditioners!!

It can most certainly be a lot of work. To make sure you like the style I would say have dreads out in (extensions I mean) and see how you like the style on you.

If you do decide to get dreads I say make them small, I think they would look best on you. You could also start out with doing them throughout your hair, and not all of your hair, that is how my friends is and it is so cute. If My hair was longer I would definitely have them.

Destiny we call them locks now..If you are not sure wait...If you are patient and willing love yourself though out the process join the club!! life's good!! Remember traditional locks can be taken out with some measure of length but with sister locks you will have to cut your hair to unlock. Although I couldn't think of a reason to unlock...best of luck to you whatever your choice.

Try them out. it takes a while to lock. be patient and make sure the locs won't interfere with your workplace. I would suggest a loc gel to a butter. something with hold. I think they would look lovely on you.
