How do I apply eye-shadow to almond eyes?

My sister has tiny almond eyes, and you can't figure out how to make her eye-shadow look as good as mine? What's the secret?

If her eyes are small, don't use dark colors. Lighter colors will brighten and widen her eyes. Also, if you want to extend the eyeshadow beyond her eye, keep it the same sort of shape as her eye.
