I would actually recommend a curling iron, you would have.better control and could get the curls tighter with using the clamp.

The smallest barrel on the nume titan 3 curling wand can create similar tight curls.

I would say wands have smaller barrels that you would need for those tight ringlets. And use smaller sections of hair.
