Hey I'm sorta new to the whole makeup thingy and I was wondering if anyone would help me on what to but and some tips and tricks.

Main staples in a makeup bag: foundation, foundation powder, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, lipstick, lipgloss, and lip balm. :)
Victoria's Secret has good kits for starters even though they are a bit pricey.
