This winter, my skin has been OUT OF CONTROL! I had combo dry skin before but not it's peeling almost constantly , and I moisturizer twice a day and exfoliate lightly once, a day. Can you ladies suggest any awesome foundations I can use that will keep my dryness minimal and unnoticeable? Or just unnoticeable?

I enjoy loreals true match foundation, I have dry skin myself and it doesn't show it as much and looks less cakey. Also a really nice moisturizer that you could use on your face is coconut oil, it's really intensive and I wouldn't recommend putting it on before going out because it does make your skin oily, but as a nightly moisturizer it works wonders.

I am defiantly grabbing some coconut oil next time I go out! Do you. Know if it clogs pores? I just want to be cautious! Thank you!

Dry skin is supposed to be moisturizer at least four times a day during the winter. I recommend getting a strong facial moisturizer like CeraVe and then sealing it in with an oil like Coconut oil or almond oil. Make sure you use a good silicone based primer ( I personally like Palladio or bare minerals ) for my dry skin. Right now I'm using Loreal Lumi foundation, but bare minerals had no issues with my skin even when dried out. Make sure you don't use one that's long lasting as those generally tend to dry onto the skin in general. Clinique works well, Urban decay as well, Nars sheer finish, stick to dewy or semi mattee finishes instead of matte as it'll emphasize dryness more.

No coconut oil or any oil does not moisturize. Oils SEAL in moisture so using just oil will just make it more dry for you.

I knew oills seal! I was going to put it on over my normal moisturizer. I didn't know I was supposed to moisturize my terrible skin four times a day! I will defiantly get in that!! Thank you so much kitty! Do you like the L'Oreal lumi? I have has an eye in lately!

I have dry skin and I use the smashbox photo finish primer with the Stila illuminating foundation because it's so moisturizing. Hope this helps!!

Well to answer your above question no oils won't clog your pores. As a matter of fact oils banish oils so it'll simply get rid of the nasty oils are skin produces and clean out your pores so your skin to breathe. I find that moisturizers with SPF generally clog pores altogether so I'm okay with mine not having any. The best time to moisturize it is right after you shower, literally just grab some and massage it in. Go with creams as they tend to do a better job at being absorbed than a lotion. As for the lumi I like it, it has a sheer to moderate coverage and looks nice and dewy on the skin. I do set it with powder. I personally think that for drug store it looks really nice. I find it really similar to neutrogenas skin clearing liquid make up as well so if your iffy about it and your skin you could totally try that one out. I've used both and had no issues with either one and would purchase them again 😊

Oh and make sure you use an alcohol free toner!! Or use apple cider vinegar half water ( or any herbal tea ) 👍

I suggest trying a heavy duty moisturiser and exfoliation and a toner before makeup what you really need is a foundation that will provide some moisture to your face and one that doesn't sink into any dry cracks or make the dry worse :)

Get yourself some Sweet Almond Oil and slather in on. It hydrates quickly and heals crazy fast. You can find it at Whole Foods or any health food store. It's inexpensive and effective. I have Psoriasis and it is a winter lifesaver! I'd also use a beauty blender-esque applicator for foundation and Aveeno's Daily Radiance moisturizer with SPF beneath my foundation. Drink loads of water. Lightly exfoliate once a week. I'd also remove my makeup when you know you're staying in and break out the almond oil. Good Luck! Cetaphil and Cerave are gentle and effective on dry skin!

I have horribly bad dry skin and I have recently switched to CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and then I use CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion mixed with two small drops of Vitamin E oil, and my skin is glowing and the Vitamin E oil has evened out my skin so well and it doesn't break me out. I had been using coconut oil for about a year and half and I noticed great results at first, but it just stopped doing anything great for my dry skin and my makeup looked cakey. But since switching to CeraVe and Vit E, my skin looks soooo much better. As for foundation, I highly recommend Cliniques Even Better and I appy w/ Sephora Pro Flawless Brush (I believe its #56) its around $30 I think but completely worth it, trust me, if I don't use this brush, it looks cakey. I also use Benefits PoreFessional Primer before applying the foundation and it looks so good. I also highly recommend the clarisonic mia, it is so good, and it has helped my dry sensitive skin
