How do you apply foundation? I mean, I have been really into makeup for a while now, and I know somebody on here is going to say "if you don't know how, then you shouldn't wear makeup" but everyone I know that wears liquid foundation, they don't have the little hairs on their face and it doesn't look caked on for them. For me it does. Can you gals help?

Could just be the foundation you're wearing doesn't go well with your skin type.

I have facial hair and I usually thread it or do some waxing at home. and in order to get the less cakey look get a firm dome brush from sonia kaushik at target, mac blending sponge in pink color or even from sonia kaushik. The dome brush helps blend and the sponge doesn't soak the product but instead gives a nice finish and ability to blend more. These two products are must. try the loreal youth code serum or the new pink one which will smooth your skin and apply it day and night after washing the face before moisturizer. make sure you apply moisturizer and let the skin soak in the moisturizer and serum before applying foundation blush etc

Pump out some foundation onto the back of your hand, dab your brush in it, then dab your foundation onto your forehead in two spots, nose, and each cheek. start in the center of your forehead and either buff out if you want an airbrush finish or use short feather like strokes downward if you want fuller coverage. make sure you go down not up or your hairs will stick up funny. do short brushstrokes and blend everything together. don't feel silly asking, we're all happy to help!

First of all, everyone has hairs on their face :p so don't worry about that part. you can apply liquid foundation a few different ways. I personally use my fingers. I like doing it that way because it blends into the skin a little better. you can also use a foundation brush to buff it into the skin. each method will give you a different finish tho, so play around with it & see what way works best for you :p
very important tho, always, always, always, set your liquid foundation with a setting powder. liquid foundations melt a little from your body heat & it causes it to settle into ant pores or fine lines on the skin & just looks terrible >.<
hope I helped

Using a primer will help because it will give the foundation a base meaning you can apply it evenly and smoothly. I put my foundation on the back of my hand then use a brush to apply it. This is a more professional way but a lot of product can be wasted which gets soaked into the bristles. I then smooth the foundation with my fingertips in places where it could clump up like the sides of my nose or my eyebrows. Just make sure your foundation is good quality as it helps a lot!!

I start by using my fingers then I use my foundation brush to get it smoothed out.
