I just bought some new foundation, and it looks a bit cakey. Before I take it back, I was wondering if there's anyway to prevent the cake face look? Anything you can use underneath it maybe? Thanks in advance(:

You can use a face serum and apply it with a dome shaped sonia brush or you can use the blending sponge in pink like a beauty blender at mac. I got mac coz it was cheaper for me and sonia kaushik makes them too at target stores. it keeps the foundation a more flawless finish

You can use primer but always always your skin must be moisturzed very well to prevent this look

Make sure your skin is properly moisturized, if your skin is dry it will look caked!
Make sure to apply a primer, I find the silicone based ones to yield the best in terms of the appearance of the foundation. A primer is a base, kind of like painting a wall. It fills in all the fine lines, and can help with dryness, oilyness, etc. It provides a clean canvas for your foundation to glide on smoothly.
If you're using a long lasting foundation, they generally tend to cake up over time. Make sure to start off using a little bit of foundation, and to blend blend blend! Lots of girls like using their mac fix + ( hint you can just use a regular water spray! mac fix plus is just water and glycerin! ).

Elsa, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had commented haha. I had just picked up Neutrogena when I went to Walmart last time to try something new.
