Well you can get an eyelash comb, that'll help. But it also has to do with your application, so I'd suggest wiggling it at the base of your lashes, and then dragging the brush slowly up through the rest of your lashes. If you're careful, your mascara should clump less :)

Not really a tip, but I've been using Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara for almost a year, and it works great! No clumps at all! :)
