First off I just want to talk about how I messed up last night :( I had great celeb client that I have been dying to do makeup on and finely got the opportunity to do and I messed up big time first off I brought my friend who is also a makeup artist then she asked me if she could assist and I said yes big mistake :(.. When we got there and started to set up.. She completely took over and the worst part she did a horrible job and didn't know the difference between cut crease and smokey eye when I finely got to take a turn her makeup was horrible and ended overlapping more makeup over makeup instead of saying just wash your face so I can fix it.. End of story my client hated the results and cancelled her event.. Now I feel like my career as a makeup artist is over :(

I not a professional but just from life experience I would say grow from your mistakes and look forward don't look at it like the end but more of what not to do next time I have seen your work from your profile and I'm pretty sure you will have no problem rising above this!! :-)

Aww it's ok there are ups and downs in life. Somedays are good and some are bad. We always learn from our experiences. Don't be disappointed. I'm sure you are a very good makeup artist. It was only one client. Don't lose your heart. You will find loads more. Xxx

So sorry to hear that Britney. Do think maybe the friend did this on purpose? In any case don't beat yourself up for long. Dust yourself off and keep going. Oh my goodness that's the worse feeling to try to make a client happy as well as a friend. I totally see how you got caught up. I know you probably feel down and regretful right know but as the others said this will soon be a thing of the past that you will never repeat again. Luckily for you, you have skillz and people will acknowledge that no matter what. I would sincerely apologize to the client and offer her a freebie when she's ready. Even if she doesn't take you up on the offer, it shows your professionalism and caring personality and that alone can take you a long way.

Thank you @Jacqueline I also question why I brought her along maybe deep down I wanted to prove I had her back as far as helping her to become a makeup artist and @Velen haha I wish it was that easy I had to go thru my agent to hear the bad review...

Britney , OMG the same thing happen to me but my friend made me feel dumb in front of a big client by talking and working over me end of result it was a disaster. Don't worry every thing is going to get better a week went by and it my client still liked me I talked to my friend and I learned from my mistakes never will I take her with me and I called the client.Little by little every thing is getting better.
