I loved reading this! Since I'm not skilled with makeup, reading about his other interests, (especially as a fashion illustrator myself), made it more relatable than a lot of other MUA bios. Always a pleasure to read these posts though! =)

Ok, finally got a chance to read. my kid was slap happy and finally fell asleep. whoo.
I just wana say, whooo hoo, chitown stand up and represent!. lol.
I love Sam Fine and I have that back. my mama actually bought it for me before I even started doing makeup. he's am exception artist. he was on queen latifah show a few wks ago doing holiday makeup tips. I'm not a big fan of the show but I heard he was coming on so had to watch as I havent seen him as much I as used to..

I believe you. it seems like the last decade he's fallen into the background. not to say he isn't working. but he deals with a more sophisticated crowd in a sense. Naomi Campbell, Iman etc. and fashion fair is looked at as a "afro American" cosmetics brand and doesn't get as much play on the main stage. they had some nice same fine inspired sets over the past yr. he's working but not in front of the camera like you mentioned earlier. so if you are recent, I see how he may not be on ones radar.
I have happy to see him on queen latifah. he looked well. his tips were watered down for mass interest but that's to be expected I guess. be just did 3 tips..

I had the opportunity to meet him at an industry event with my husband. Sam is the most down to earth and humble person around. Awesome sense humor. Where we were at the food wasn't the greatest...he kept joking about wanting to hit up his favorite restaurant Houston's and invited our group to tag alone. You are so right Jacqueline...this man's work is off the chain. Last I heard he was head artist for the Queen Latifia's talk show out in L.A. Thanks for doing an artist spotlight...keep 'em coming girl. :)

@Jacqueline, I always wonder how much top artist make.. it gives you a goal to strive twd cause ppl giving you grief for charging them $50 when you sat there for 4hrs waiting for then to even ready, had to drive to het ther, plus use your product and b n a positive mindset to even make them beautiful.. at least you know somewhere out there some ppl value your skill n.you can work twd getting there. lol. ;-)
you should do Reggie wells some day.. he fascinates me because he did Oprah for so long n he made her look fab everytime. covered those serious bags flawlessly. omg!.. I found a copy if his book used online as its no longer in circulation from what I find but I havent been able to read it yet. I'm so behind on my reading. blah. kids. lol.
