Most orthodontists let you switch it up every time you get your braces tightened. I wore blue because it made my teeth look whiter, but if I was to get braces again now I probably wouldn't go with blue just because it doesn't match anything I wear hahah.

Purple would be lovely! You'll probably be able to change the colour every time you have your braces adjusted, though.

Some orthodontists (like mine) only have a small selection of colours, though.

I was dumb and got red and navy.. The teeth with the navy lookrd whiter the ones w red looked darker lol so I got light pink and purple.. was nice but light pink stains easy.

I wouldn't get white because it'll probably make your teeth look yellowish in comparison to the bright white braces.

I had braces for 2 years. I just got basic silver braces, and changed the colour after every visit :) avoid the 'clear' ones, as they can become discoloured over time and look ugly. (I'm speaking from experience.) I also didn't like yellow or green ones, I thought they looked a bit gross. I wore pink, purple and blue lots. @Marissa is right, maroon and navy make your teeth look white! Yellow, light pink and white (basically all light colours) make your teeth look yellower.
