Hey everyone, so normally I have oily skin, but lately this terrible Alberta winter has left my skin SO dry.
I constantly look flakey around my eyes, cheeks and mouth (gross, I know) like if I even rub my face a little bit flakes of skin fall off everywhere!
I exfoliate at least every two days but the dry weather has also made my skin sensitive, so it hurts to exfoliate too much, also I put coconut oil Plus my moisturizer to help, and I haven't noticed any difference. sorry this is a lot of writing I've just never dealt with dry skin and nothing seems to be helping :(

I have similar issues year round (dry climate, ugh) and I found that aquaphor works best. I use it before bed (it is pretty thick and greasy feeling, so not ideal for daytime) and just slather it on the dry areas.

Hi, I have had the same problem as you with
the fact I normally have oily skin, and the winter suddenly turns that around, with the coconut oil have you tired not rubbing it in but leaving it to sit? And maybe also try some hydrating face masks you can pick up at the drugstore:)

Try CeraVes moisturizing cream, it's really thick, and keeps your skin soft all day. It won't leave you looking greasy either, it's actually matte imo. I had some flaking around my nose from the dry climate, and CeraVe took care of it :)

Oils seal in moisture not moisturize it. Try a butter or a dermatologist recommended cream. I love cocoa Butter and Shea butter. For drugstore I think cerave or aveeno wins.
