Hi all! I'm new to the forum, but basically was wondering if someone could help me find some good alternatives to my mac products. I only started buying professional quality makeup over a year ago and have since only tried mac, who do make a lot of nice products but I have some problems with their foundations and concealers.
I have redness and large pores in on my cheeks just either side of my nose, and occasionally a little acne, so I prefer a full-coverage foundation. I've been using Studio Sculpt (I'm NC15) and while I loved it at first, I've found that it feels gross and cakey after a while and is very difficult not to put too much on. I alternate between Studio Finish and Select Moisturecover both in NC15 for concealers, and SF is a bit dry and cakey while SM is a little too orange for me and doesn't cover as well.
I've been looking into NARS and might try their corrective shade concealer and sheer foundation. I like mac's face and body but with all their foundations it stings my face just a little on application.
Any suggestions for someone with normal/combination NC15 skin with redness? Will NARS be worth getting into? Thanks!!

I don't know anything about NARS (sorry) but I have red on my cheeks and so far (though I've only used it twice) I really like covergirls 3 in 1 foundation.

Hi! First of all, welcome to Beautylish! It's nice to have you :)
Personally I don't wear face makeup, but Nars is a great overall brand, and if you want to try other high-coverage foundations, I'd suggest Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation and Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. In terms of concealer, Nars is absolutely great!

For high coverage, I suggest:
Kat Von D Lock-It
Estee Lauder Double Wear
MUFE HD
Revlon Colorstay
As for concealer, I really love Physician's Formula Cover FX and Rimmel Match Perfection.

Oh I forgot to mention the covergirl 3 in 1 can also be used as concealer.

I like using color correctors. They seem more effective 😊
