I'm a Mommy and a student-nurse, and I'm really into makeup, but I am also very particular about certain ingredients not being in my products! I would love any and all suggestions about great Beauty Balms you've tried that don't contain parabens.
Thanks so much.

The only BB I've tried is Garnier, and it is paraben-free! Hopefully there'll be more replies; I'd like to know as well. Great ques!

As an FYI, there is nothing wrong with parabens. In fact, they're the safest form of cosmetic preservative (which is what they are) there is. Some of them are even -- wait for it! -- naturally derived.
Musings of a Muse has loads of reviews of both Asian and western BB creams. I believe all her reviews include ingredient listings.

For some people there is no worries about parabens. The issue is that they mimic estrogen & are endocrine disruptors for some of us. As a hairdersser I've been unknowingly slathering them on my hands-to apply shampoo/cond/styling products on clients for 20+ years. And yep, I have a big estogen problem now ;) So just like some can't handle dairy or red meat, some of us can't handle parabens. That's all.

A big issue with parabens, as Mary E. stated (perfectly) above, is that they indeed are estrogen mimics and endocrine disruptors, which can have very bad effects on some people. Remember, the more estrogen your body is exposed to, the higher your likelihood to get cancer. Personally, I've VERY sensitive to female sex-hormones, and cannot use products that have estrogen mimics in them, and I've noticed a difference since I ceased using paraben-filled products. Thus, they are simply not for me.
Another issue to note is that many (very many) product lines have quietly removed parabens from their products...They know that mandated removal is coming. Now I can use MAC, Tarte, and Stila, when I couldn't before (among others).
Lastly, because something is naturally-derived does not make it safe. Digoxin, a potent heart-failure drug, is manufactured from the foxglove plant, and is thus quite naturally derived; is it safe? No, it's one of the most dangerous drugs. Thank you, Shelly and Lindsey, for your suggestions, I shall check them out!

Well put Elizabeth. Dont need a tangent on parabens but I could go on and on lol! Looks like not many options, oh well. Just noticed that Sexy Hair has reformulated w/o parabens. Healthy Sexy Hair too!

Tarte hands down is the silkiest feeling Bb with the most coverage that is formulated without parabens and other harsh chemicals!
