I can't say I've ever heard of any cos schools online. The thing is, it's all about hands on stuff. But hey,you never know! Someone might know. I know paul mitchell schools give you an option for part time stuff. I had a friend that would only do a couple hours a day during the week cause she had so many other things in life going on. You might could look into that.

I also agree with Megan. Cosmetology is really hands on, I think it would be kind of hard to teach online. Allthough, everything that I know now I've learned through Youtube and articles/forums such as Beautylish.
I think the part time schooling would be a great idea to try, the only thing is it takes FOREVER to graduate because you're only going to school a few hours each night and most schools have a 1500 hour requirement.

If your interested in something that takes more time, Sephora certifies consultants and you get paid for doing what you love along with coworkers and clients who love beauty too! it's great, I work there myself & plan to move up in time. A lot of opportunities to grow.

I've never heard of cosmo classes online. You kind of have to be present and get hands on experience and how is anyone supposed to make sure you're doing things right?

I'm going to be trying out an online makeup course, at University of Makeup. They have a sale on the course right now, and it's only $200. If you have any problems you can take a video or picture of what you're doing, and email it to them and they will reply with tips on how to fix if youre doing something wrong. At the end you get a certificate and they help promote you as a makeup artist, so I think it's worth checking out.

Marinello school of beauty! You can be eligible for financial aid and if you are low income they help you, my cousin went there full time and is now a certified MUA.

Online cosmetology school? No. I think there is a good reason why they don't allow that because if you think about it, would you really feel comfortable with someone cutting your hair who has only seen videos on the internet about cutting hair, etc? Most of your state licensing exam is practical knowledge. You have to have 1500 hours(it's different in different places) of school and pass competencies in each area before going to even take your license exam. Those hours are broken down into so many hours for each thing and you may be able to get some of your theory hours out of the way with online courses but before you can even apply to do anything like that online you'll need to be enrolled in a school and have a student ID number which will later become your license number(or at least that's how it is in Ohio).
Also, once you get your license you do have to have continued education to renew (here it is 8 hours every two years) your license, they do offer things for that online.
