My oily skin is driving me up the wall! By the middle of the day my makeup has slid off! Any affordable products that could minimize the oilyness or keep my foundation from sliding?

Chelsea, I use some of clinques products for my oily areas, but finding out the cause of your oily skin would be the best way to start, whether it's the products you're using or just genetics. There are primers that can help mattify the skin. You can also use a translucent face powder. :)
Just a heads up, everyone loves the milk of magnesia cause it gives very dramatic immediate results, but it's really not good for your skin long term. It has a pH level over 10. Which is way too alkaline. The skins ideal pH should be around 5. Milk of magnesia isn't formulated for use on the skin, or with an appropriate pH. It's too harsh, and will damage the skins acid mantle over time, so please be cautious. If you want to control oil production over long term, consistent care with products designed for use of the skin are your best bet :)

Thankyou, I'll look into some of the clinques products, or even some primers :) x

Milk of magnesia! defentlty, a lot of people recommend the milk, it controls the oil on your face within minutes, A lot of people also say it's bad to use on your skin everyday, I totally disagree, I been using the milk everyday this month and nothing bad has happen, my skin is just extremely oily probably that it probably doesn't get dried off.

Perhaps you need a different foundation. I use Revlon Colorstay and I have oily skin. I would recommend trying it out. Its pretty inexpensive.

Mariam, the milk may have immediate, and stunning effects when used but overtime it damages your natural pH balance- which is something Lexi tried to explain. Skin has a natural pH of about 5, but the milk has it around 10- too much alkaline. Products should have a pH level similar to that of your skin, if you use them on your face. I don't recommend the milk either, there are much better alternatives out there.

You can:
-use milk of magnesia for primer (I used it everyday for over a month)
- take care of your skin to reduce oil production. Such as using a clay mask once a week to draw out excess oil

Use a primer with a gel texture rather then a liquid or cream texture. It helps hold the makeup better. Also use a mattifying powder after you apply your foundation.

Try those blotting sheets that absorb oil! or like get a cleanser specifically for oily skin, and make sure the products you use are oil free, and use a matte powder! I use rimel shine control, it gives good coverage and keeps my skin shine free!
