I have a somewhat light skin face with a lot of black scars which I cover with foundation however I feel like makeup is now a cover up and not a tool to enhance. Should I get comfortable with my skin or is makeup still necessary.??

There's nothing better than getting comfortable in your own skin. Sure makeup covers up imperfections but what about when you take it off, don't you want to have that same great feeling of knowing you have great skin under it all. Push makeup aside for a little bit and focus on finding the best products for your skin! Don't just rely on makeup. I'm sure you want days where you can just walk out the house without needing so much makeup. It might be hard at first because you're so used to wearing it and using it to cover up but let your skin breathe and focus on those acne scars!!

Get comfortable! But a natural remedy is vitamin E oil, just dab some on :)

I believe it depends on your mindset, wearing makeup does not necessarily mean that you are not comfortable within your own skin. I wear a light bb cream whenever I go out due to my right cheek having burn wounds. Sometimes I go without any makeup cause I don't really care whether people see it or not. Do whatever makes you comfortable. By the way according to some studies from the University of Miami concluded that applying vitamin e doesn't actually help (or made matters worse) for 90% of the patients, and 33% who used topical vitamin E developed a contact dermatitis.
You may want to consider using cortisone, retinoid (especially Adapalene for dark skinned people).

Exfoliating once or twice a week can help get rid of dead skin cells and lighten scarring. I also really like Garnier's dark spot correcting treatment. It's got a lot of vitamin c in it to lighten and fade the scars. It didn't make my skin sensitive but I used another moisturizer with it just in case, and I made sure to use moisturizer with SPF in it during the day. Which you should do anyway, especially if you have scarring because sunlight can darker the pigments in the scars further.
But I think as long as your skin is healthy overall there's nothing wrong with using makeup. If it helps you be confident and comfortable then that's great. But I do think actually trying to get rid of the issue so that you don't always feel like you need makeup would be really good for you, and anyone, too. So I would work on getting rid of the scars and in the mean time if wearing makeup gives you confidence while the scars are still hanging around then that's perfectly okay! It comes down to whatever is the most comfortable for you.
