Brittany...I'm not arguing with you and nor am I mad at you. :) I wasn't offended by your statement but I know some skin cancer patients who would take offense to what you said because I've witnessed such exchanges myself. Here in Florida where I reside most of our melanoma cases are from sunbathing and tanning bed use. When studying statistics you have to look at where they come from. Regional statistics. Nor did I say that the sun kills. :( My point of view comes from what I've seen myself and listening to what my husband does in his research and that of his peers. Sorry if you took it as an argument but its not. ;)

Haha oh good I thought I offended you in some way! And I speak to mostly American scientists and pros, I recently met with one in cabo and he's my new role model hahaha. But in reality people who work indoors are more likely to get melanoma than people who work outdoors. People don't allow their skin to get sunlight, and then when they do their poor body doesn't know what to do with it.

@Katie... Peter Thomas Roth has a 10% glycolic acid serum that has moisturizing properties along with it as well. You can find it at ULTA and Sephora. A more affordable one is from Alpha Hydrox. Its gel based as well and you can snag it at ULTA. Be sure to apply their $3.50 off coupon on it as well. My personal ultimate fave is from Renee Rouleau and you can find her online. She has two spas in Texas and has an awesome product line and a pretty cool blog. Since you're first starting out I suggest going 10% before reaching for higher percentage. And start with the one most affordable for your wallet. :)

@Brittany...girl...life is too short to get all in a frenzy and arguing with people. I have to keep the wrinkles away.lol. The melanoma that you mentioned from medical use...I definitely agree with you on that one. I've had radiation treatments after several cancer battles and I was told my chance of getting skin cancer was up there along with a relapse of the original cancer. So I knock on wood, pray that I don't see that beast again so for now I keep track of my radiation exposure (x-rays, ctscans) as I'm not trying to exceed my lifetime radiation exposure. The indoor lights definitely emit nasty rays. But good luck trying to get these big box stores and office buildings from switching those nasty bulbs out. :) I'm glad we're having this exchange.xxxx

Okay, I know this sounds weird, but I use BioOil (vitamin E). It seems like oil would actually make acne worse, but it really creates a barrier between your skin and hair or other irritants. if you do use it, make sure to was your fsce with a gently cleansing soap or wash, and then apply a small amount with your fingers. apply to the forehead, nose, cheeks, and pretty much wherever the acne is.

I agree with what Shelley said about the glycolic acid. I noticed the alpha hydroxy acids helped my acne way better that beta ha (salisylic acid) from day one for me. Been using them for years. Also noticed a huge difference when I got a clarisonic a few years back and started using it witl Peter Thomas Roth glycolic cleanser and it cleared out my pores like crazy! Good luck.

Being gentle with my skin. If there is menthol in your cleansers etc.gives you that cool feeling) , ditch them. Use fragrance free products amd only apply spot gel on the spots not the whole area. if choosing a moisturizer, spot test it first on a small area the first day so you avoid any unnecessary breakouts. With my skin, using too much of any cleanser seems to break me out. So I stick to pea sized amounts of cleanser and my skin is 100% clear
