What I find works for African American skin is:
-African Black Soap (not the drugstore kind, the raw kind from an herbs store)
-Noxema. Use the cleanser then put the deep cleansing cream on as an overnight mask at night.(Walgreens)
-milk of magnesia as primer can also work for oily skin. You can also just wear it as a mask then rinse it off for oil control. (Dollar store of Walgreens)
-Clay masks also draw out excess oil

Hi Tiana, when it comes to treating acne you need to figure out what's actually cauing it beforw you attempt to use anything topical. remember, the skin is the largest organ of the body and whatever is going on inside your body will reflect on the skin. there are different things you need to check with...your acne may be hormonal, hereditry, etc. if its hormonal you actually need to visit your gyn to stannlise your hormones in order to prevent more acne. you will get the clue if you notice tht you get new breakouts aroud your cycle...even if you use the best products for acne prone skin and you havent targeted the root cause, this battle will gk om forever. so this is your 1st step. figure out the root cause. hope this helps :)
