I have been using exfoliant gloves with body wash and it's not working. I also tried rubbing baby oil into my skin and letting it soak for 20 minutes then exfoliating but that didn't work either. My main problem areas are my ankles, under my shoulders and my elbows (but that's my own fault for forgetting to not apply too much). Please help a girl out and give me ideas!

How long has it been since you first put the fake tan on? Maybe you have to wait a couple of days.

Have a long hot bath and add some kind of oil like baby oil or bath oil and soak for about an hour, then get a washcloth (the rougher the better) and scrub scrub scrub till most of the fake tan is gone. Another slightly less safe way is to use hydrogen peroxide, one you use to bleach your hair, basically apply it onto dry skin, leave for max 60sec and jump in a bath a quickly scrub it off with a wash cloth and shower gel, make sure you moisturizer after. Usually I do the hydrogen peroxide trick and then soak in an oily bath.

Besides doing hydrogen peroxide, you may also use lemon juice. Its very acidic so it will break through the fake tanner :)

I don't like the idea of putting peroxide on my skin. I will try the lemin juice. Do you just let it soak into your skin?

Yeah I agree no peroxide LOL but yes just let it sit on for a couple minutes, jump in the shower and exfoliate really well! :)

DONT APPLY HYDROGEN PEROXIDE ON YOUR SKIN. It will burn it or leave it super dry, depending on your skin.

Sugar + lemon juice, some even say windex?? Not sure about that one though, or just any body wash with an exfoliating glove, orrrr just plain old giving your skin a couple of weeks to rid the old skin cells naturally!

I'm not sure about this but maybe coca cola? I know it works to get rid of temporary tattoos.

I would try the lemon juice. I got a spray tan once and the lady at the salon said she could get rid of the orangey lines around my ankles. She actually went behind the counter and pulled out a huge bottle of Clorox bleach! I said noooo thank you lol

To avoid it next time just make sure exfoliate problem areas really well and then apply a thin layer of good moisturiser to areas like the elbows knees and ankles. This will then act as a barrier without effecting the way your gorgeous tan will look!!
