Ok. I've got another problem.
I see everyone's talking about primer and other makeup things.
My problem is: what is all that? Would anyone please care to explain what it is and how to apply it? I'm possibly thinking of applying makeup once I know how.

Primer is like a base, just like you use a nail polish pass before using colour. It makes your makeup apply smoothly, last longer, and prevents pores from blocking up :) I recommend the one from Nivea which is also a moisturiser, as I have really dry and somehow still oily skin :/ hope this helps :)

Primer helps foundation go on smooth! & stay on longer! & that's as far as I know! Lol , concealer is to hide imperfections. There's a setting powder that you apply when your done with your make up so it can also stay on longer. There's contouring and highlighting! There's a lot more! It's all so confusing.

For primer it basically is supposed to even out your skin tone and create a barrier between your skin and your makeup. It's supposed to smooth out lines and pores so that your makeup will go on better and look more even on your skin. It is also supposed to make your makeup stay on longer throughout the day. There's a lot of different primer out there for your specific needs such as dry/combination/oily skin, pore fillers, evening out skin tone, etc. You can apply a small amount all over your face with your fingers or a brush, whatever you prefer. There are also eye primers that will make eyeshadow colours appear more vibrant and last longer on the eye, and they also stop the eyeshadow from creasing.

Where there any other makeup products you had questions about?

Yea, what's the powder thing that you apply?

There's a lot of different powders. Powders as in foundation & even concealers. The powder to help your make up last longer is a translucent powder & has no color. The foundations do have colors cause it's make up of course. And you can't use just any foundation you have to really be able to know your skin for a better make up application.

Are you talking about translucent powder? when you talk about that powder thing? a translucent powder sets your makeup so it will set you foundation & concealer. (it will make your skin appear more matte).. and some translucent powders claim to make your pores appear smaller. I am sure that you can get a better explanation than mine. If that is even what you are talking about. hopefully I helped you out somewhat!

Before you apply your make up you have to prep and prime your skin. Kind of like a car getting a paint job or painting your wall. When you paint something you want a clean canvas. This is the talk of primers.

Primers should be based on your skin type and appearance. A silicone based primer is the best for making your make up come on smoothly. There are different types of primers. Some are clear, some fill in your pores, some even out skin tone, some to cancel out redness, some to brighten up dull skin and some to help oily and or dry skin types.
Skin is uneven. By applying primer you create an even base for your make up application and the results are noticeable.
Foundation which comes in cream, liquid, mousse, and mineral. Foundation is initially meant to even out your skin tone. There are several types. You have a matter finish which has no shine and is best for oily skin types. And regular or dewy foundations which are best for normal to dry skin types. Foundation is not meant to cover, however most foundations do offer coverage.
Concealer, is what adds coverage. Depending on what foundation you use you can either apply it after foundation or before. Color correcting concealer usually do the best job at hiding blemishes and darkness. Concealer can be used for either the under eye area or blemishes and dark spots.
Setting powder can play an important role. It makes make up stay in place. For instance, let's say you use a mineral powder foundation. This is when you usually use concealer first. If you put on foundation after it may get buffed away. So instead taking a puff ( never use setting powder with a brush. It's meant for a puff ) and pat it over areas you conceal. So when you apply foundation it stays in place.
You can use it after you've done a full face of make up so it will stay. Powder also gives you a matte finish and has light reflecting particles that basically blur out skin imperfections. However, if you want a dewy finish then I recommend you stay away from a powder and use a setting spray instead.
An eye primer is also very important when it comes to eye shadow. It prevents creasing from oily skin types and basically increases the color pigmentation outcomes. If you click on my profile I have a photo comparing with and without eye primer.
Now contouring and highlighting. When you apply foundation on your face it basically comes flat. Contouring and highlighting brings back the shape of your face. When contouring people use a bronzer... Don't do that. Bronzers are applied where the sun would hit to add a warm glow, like a red carpet glow. Most people think that because its matte that its okay. Contouring is to recreate the shadows that add dimension on your face. Shadows are not brown orange, and when the sun hits you'll look like you fake tanned the hollows of your cheeks and look really funny. Stick to ashy browns. Yellows make a great highlight. Contouring and highlight is what Kim Kardashian does to give herself that high cheek boned look. Contouring and highlight can also make you appear skinner. Think of it as a painless surgery. You can make it look like you lost ten lbs off your face and like you got a nose job.

Now, since this is all really really confusing I highly recommend you YouTube Wayne Goss.
He teaches proper techniques and placement of make up. He goes into depth with face shape and skin type. He is where I learned face make up from and actually teaches the proper technique and placement like how to find your cheek bones, how contouring should be done for a specific face and nose shape, and what tools pertain to what.

I see you got some excellent responses. my advice do research, as a guy I had to figure a lot of this stuff out on my own. YouTube and the internet plus a healthy dose of experimentation usually does the trick. good luck.
