Hey guys, so I always see posts for "foundations for oily/combo" skin, but never posts for dry skin. And I figured, because I have dry skin, that if I ever wanted to buy some foundation I would love your guys' suggestions. Thanks so much!

How's the finish? And the staying power? Do I need to set it with something? Or use a primer?

Hi Hannah! I love the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hr Foundation. The finish is almost satin almost matte and doesn't amplify any dry patches I have! I use a primer with it but I have not used one before and it stayed on for at least 10 hours before it creased. I usually primer, put it on, and then set it with a very light powder like a Bare Minerals mineral veil or a Mac Skinfinish Natural! Hope I helped!

Rimmel wake me up is good, it has medium coverage I guess. I really like the finish, it gives a healthy glow. when I put it on at 7:30 am most of it is still on when I come home at 18:30.

I have cpmb to dry skin and use 2 foundations when my cheeks arw very dry. 1st is a mineral powder foundation artdeco and another is from max factor for dry skin, but put it in a very thin coat and blend, so that they work perfect together for me:-)

Some of the foundations I like are..
mac minerlized. dewy finish. it needs to b set or it will in fact transfer.
my low singer daily use dupe for that is maybelline fitME. it also gives a dewy finish. its buildable and it doesn't really transfer so I use it alone. is so light you kinda forget you have foundation on.. I also use the dream fresh bb cream which I was just using to blur out the dark circles under my eyes n any breakouts when I'm in a rush. and I can throw on some fitME if its still not enough coverage. thru the summer just bb was enough for work.
another I like is Clinique superbalanced.. this one is veryyyyyy thick!. I loved it when I tried it. hated it when I got home. went back to it a yr later n used it thru all last winter.!! you only need a little to get nice coverage. this is prob the heaviest of the 3 things I mentioned but I'm going to buy more for this summer as I've been out for a few months. but it's cold out here n need some heavier. now, this does need to b set as well as it will transfer..
I have loreal lumi. a lot of girls like it on bl but its too heavy for me and I'm trying to mix it with fitME to get rid of it n its stil been top heavy. I don't want to feel cakey even if I don't look it!.
some things on my wishlist are UD naked & mufe HD.

If youre looking for a bb cream (light coverage, dewy fresh looking skin), then I suggest the one from essence. I do use a lightweight day cream first, but no primer. I don't usually set it with a powder, but if you do - take it easy.
