What is face primer and what is it purpose? I'm a very simple makeup person I see all these tutorials and everyone uses alllll this makeup and primer is always first. Also, I have a oily skin problem so moisturizing isn't a problem. Will primer make my face even more oily?

Primer will help control your oil and make your makeup last longer. there are different ones like color correcting oil controlling. Revlon has good ones also rimmel. elf has one also but doesn't control oil that much but it helps. look into one for controlling oil. also I heard some hype about hard candy primers but I never tried them.

Primers do lots of different things and there are also different types.
For example:
Skin primers:
Come in a variety of formats, that are designed to smooth out the surface of the skin and even out skin tone.
Primers that smooth:
Usually neutral in colour and give a even and silky finish. Use this primer to give a bit of a boost to dull skin from lack of sunshine, if your sick or bad time of the month etc
Then there are colour correcting primers like yellow which will reduce mild pinkness and dark circles under the eyes and can also be applied to fine lines to reduce their appearance. Lavender which is gives a bit of a lift to sallow skin or if your feeling under the weather. It counteracts against yellow tones and helps to illuminate the skin. Green which counteracts any redness in the skin tone. It will immediately help to conceal any rosy or red tones in your skin like around your nose or cheeks.
Mainly a primer is used to help your makeup stick and last longer, even out skin tone and fill in creases and much more. Hope this helps :)

And I suggest face of Australia's face base primer (it's a 3 in 1 primer that primes, protects and moisturisers)

Serves as a barrier of defense between skin and makeup, so the makeup Is not directly on your skin. Definitely find one with an SPF.
