I've become quite chummy with the manager at the MAC counter where I'm from. I was there just to say hello yesterday and he asked me if I would be interested in setting up an interview and start freelancing for MAC.
He told me just to let him know whenever I was ready for the interview but before I do I want to know what it entails?
Does anyone have any experience at MAC?

You let them know your availability and when they have hours they call you in- you can accept or decline whenever you want and you're free to work at various stores and counters until you're offered a permanent position.
There are also other things like, you only demo products don't apply full makeovers as a freelancer and you also don't receive gratis.

I've been a freelancer for 2 months now, it's nice making your own schedule and seeing different stores.

Yeah he kind of explained that to me. How I would be able to become permanent and I would still be able to work at my current job as a beauty advisor at ulta until I was made permanent there. I was just interested in working there because they pay the highest for freelancers with prior experience and I'm in school for esthertics and have done makeup for photo shoots and weddings. Ulta doesn't give me enough hours or pay me enough per hour =/

How was your interview process? were you asked to bring in a portfolio or anything?

Nope, just asked to bring my brushes and a model- it was about 20 minutes of talking there were 3 to a group and then we had 20 minutes to do a full face that focused on foundation and gel liner, really easy :)

I have no experience what so ever but I just want to wish you luck if you do go for it and having more experience in your resume will just in crease you in value it won't hurt and if in the end you don't like it you can always get out, it won't hurt to give it a try good luck bre.
