Curly hair length

I have curly hair and the length is to my shoulder blades. I was thinking about cutting it to shoulder length just sitting on my shoulders...would my hair be more thicker?

I agree with Velen...my hair is very thick and curly and shorter hair doesn't look good when I curl it...it literally looks like an afro on my head...I say if you want a change ask your stylist for long layers.
