I think people only need to really use blush if they're using anything that monotones your skin (foundation concealer powder etc) and if you do I think it's a must. I feel like people who just look like they have one skin tone look unnatural, and blush gives your skin the life back that you took away by putting all that other makeup on and evening it out!
Powder blushes are nice, and great if you have oily skin, the elf ones are amazing.
Creme blushes give you a more natural look because they aren't as powdery/mattefying. The dream bouncy inches aren't bad! But if using a cream blush I reccomend using it under your powder or just nlot putting powder on your cheeks because cream over powder looks cake.
You'd look good with basically any colour, a sparkly peach would look amazing on your though
