It also depends on your eye colour and the effect you want. browns go with blue eyes and also helps to warm up your skin

Brown for sure. I am blonde and use black on top and brown on bottom, but it's because I have dark eyebrows and dark eyelashes. If you are like that, then you can use black but if your lashes and brows are light, it'll look too unnatural.

Marilyn Monroe used dark brown, moistened shadow and a thin brush exclusively, despite claims otherwise. Green, Plum, and Black are my favs.
