Mac Eyebrow Pencil?

I've been using mac lingering eyebrow pencil for around a year now. I do like it but I find the pencil doesn't last long. It's a bit expensive when you have to repurchase every couple of months plus you don't know your at the end till your AT the end, any dupes or ideas for an alternatives ??

Do you prefer filling your brows in with pencils generally, or are you willing to try something like a powder or a gel?
