Hey girls, I just wanted to know what your methods are for oiling your hair. How wet? How long do you keep it in? What kind of oil do you use? Warm oil or no? Basically, how do you oil your hair?
Thanks Dolls!!

Well. . . to begin, what is your hair type? Oily at the root and dry at the ends? Normal? Dry? Split ends?
Doing an oil treatment can be beneficial for ALL hair types. It helps to soften the hair and give it a healthy glow and gloss! For those with oily scalps, I suggest staying away from the scalp and applying the oil treatment about 2-3 inches away from the scalp. This helps to protect the scalp from additional oil. There are many different ways of doing oil treatments:
1). Adding the oil product to your favorite conditioner and applying it to the hair
2). Applying it to the strands of the hair, placing a clear cap over it and sitting under a dryer (deep oil treatment)
3). Wetting the hair with warm water to open the hair's cuticle and applying the oil (after squeezing a majority of the water out) and combing it through. Depending on the hair type (thick, thin, curly, straight, etc.) and damage let the oil sit for 3-5 minutes
Going to your local beauty supply store (CosmoProf, Sally Beauty Supply, CVS, etc) will have a myriad of different oils to choose from. Choose one that is perfect for your hair type. I know that Organix makes a great Argan oil or check out Sephora and/or Ulta for other organic and safe products to use for your hair!

I use an olive oil treatment set from Carol's Daughter. I part my hair in four sections and just run the oil on my exposed scalp in those areas. Then I have my husband massage my scalp. After 20 minutes I apply the deep conditioner on my ends, throw on a shower cap and veg out in the shower for 15 minutes.
