Every now and then I will get a really horrid bunch of pimples along my hairline, I rarely wear hats, wash my face often and don't have acne problems, what the heck?!?!?!?!

It could be the styling products you use... Try to pay attention when the break outs are happening to gauge this in conjunction with which days you use specific products. I kept getting breakouts on my left cheek a few years ago, and it took me forever to isolate the cause being my Redken Smooth Down serum I was using on my hair. It only affected my left cheek because I slept on my side, and my cheek would crush my hair when I slept on it. Try tying your hair back in a loose pony tail when you sleep with a headband/wrap on to see if this might be the cause. It also helps to exfoliate well when shampooing your scalp. Hope this helps! =]

I get that problem sometimes. Besides washing hair with a good clarifying shampoo to get rid of the product buildup, you can try using powder to soak up excess sebum/product especially when you're sweating during the day.
