What Brand Do You Think Is Overrated, Have You Been The Most Disappointed In?

I have been SO disappointed by everything from Benefit. Benetint is the only ok product. I've also been disappointed by Smashbox, I think they're so overrated. My final one is Bare Minerals, I think there are FAR superior mineral powders out there, I do really like their Buxom lipsticks so I can't totally hate on them. What are yours?

What works for one may not work for another. That's what I learned over the years. Despite having a large amount of MAC in my collection I see some of their limited edition collections as being overrated. The RiRi collection being the newest offender. The lippies that were released last week are actually the same colors already in the permanent line...only thing different about them is that they are matte. And the bronzer/blush combo, I heard, lacks any serious pigmentation and that color is difficult to transfer onto brush. And the supposedly the RiRi collection was to be in pink packaging. Its in the traditional black containers.

Defiantly Mac!! I have tried concealers, powders, foundations, blush, bronzes so I have given them a fair chance and I have never liked anything. So overrated in my opinion

I slightly agree with Benefit being disappointing. I was do excited about it the first time I purchased and several products later I feel let down. They aren't bad but I feel like Hard Candy has ALOT of the same stuff for a better price.

I agree with Shelley. its hard to answer that considering that everyones face is different and we all take in products differently. I work at sephora and I love my bare minerals. however everyone else there thinks irs cheap dirt. personally I don't like mac too much but it just doesn't go with my skin. but other people love it. doesn't mean its overrated just means that it did not work for me.

Nars for me. I hate the sheer glow foundation and orgasm blush and I have heard rave reviews about both in magazines and youtube for years. I have one of their blushes that I like but for the most part they are either so pigmented it's hard to work with them without looking ridiculous or not pigmented at all.

Also the Benefit boxed blushes. Those are also so hyped but almost no pigmentation. I had Georgia, Dandelion, Throb and Coralista and I am super fair so it's not hard to find blushes that show up on me but these don't at all. They're chalky.

Last of all, Smashbox foundations. There spokeswoman on QVC is so so so pale and she raves about their foundations. There is no way she wears them because they don't come in shades that fair.

Hmmm... generally I like benefit products apart from their boxed blushes, and I like most of the mac products I've tried except for their mascaras.

every brand is going to have some hit and miss with their products as far as personal preference, skin type, and colouring are concerned, so it's easier to pick overrated products as opposed to dismissing an entire brand.

Though I LOVE Urban Decay, I would never drop $18 on their eyeshadows or liners. I think it's best to get all the palettes! Ammo palette and deluxe shadow box are on sale on their site for $13 and $10 respectively, a steal! And I live and breathe the Naked palette. Best purchase ever.

I don't care for the Benefit Benetint, it seems to wear off quickly. I do like their Girl meets Pearl and Badgal mascara.

Can I make the ultimate sin and say that I think YSL Touché Éclat is completely overrated? I have it and it sits in my bag day after day. My Benefit highlighter is better. Also YSL's Shocking mascara was awesome as a sample from Sephora but the full sized clumps like a mother. Hate it.

I agree with Shelley and Mookey. People LOVE their MAC lippy, and I absolutely adore my MAC lip colors, but they just dry me out and don't stay like they do on some of my friends. I end up looking like my crazy, old piano teacher! (May she RIP) Love their lip liners though and those really last for me.
Also, I'm mad for "Too Faced", but I picked up a shadow that was $18 the other day (damn that cute packaging) and it wasn't anything special. I have a boatload of "Too Faced" goodies that are tried and true so that was a bummer. Hope this isn't an indication of what's to come from them. Lastly, I think as great as St. Tropez is, it is way too pricey to maintain for my pale behind. Jergens has stepped up their game with removing all odor and developing a mousse that doesn't leave streaks so I'm giving that a shot.

I like all Bare Mineral products, especially the buxom eyeliners. I tried a few other mineral make up brands and they couldn't compete with Bare Minerals. My other fav foundation is Jose Maran tinted moisturizer. Oil of Olay moist cleansing towelettes for sensitive skin. I really like Garnier BB cream, it gives a matt finish and great coverage.

It's true it can be hit or miss within a product line and obviously person to person. It's just interesting to me what lines work for people and why, and what fails other people. I don't mind the overly matte formula of M.A.C lippy because I can control that with my own lip balm.
However Roz made me LOL about the piano teacher, I could picture her clearly! ;)

Two Face is sooo overrated. I bought the holiday collection last winter and OMGosh their eyeshadow were not even worth 2 bucks. I mean no type of pigmentation. Plus the blushes were too glittery. I took that sucker right back!

Mac anything.. So overrated. There are products I hate/love from each line so it's a toss up for me.
Lancome defincils mascara, not a winner... elf stuff, well you get what you pay for I guess, and ciate nail stuff... Really it just sucks
