Why my blog isn't getting any attention?

What should I do when my blog isn't getting any comments etc? Am I just being impatient with this? It's kinda sad to write to "nobody"... I use Blogger and I have also an account in BlogLovin' but I see that it's not really helping or then I just don't know how to use it, I guess. So how could I increase the traffic in my blog? I know I don't have a good camera so I can't take close-ups so much but I'll try to save money for the proper camera.

Thank you for advance!

Your blog is really good and cute I don't see why you don't have more viewers. But basic things to do:

1) Comment on other blogs. A lot. Most people see it as blog etiquette to do the same back (unless they have a freakish amount of viewers in which case it isn't practical).

2) Look at the number of viewers. Just because your blog doesn't get a lot of comments or follows doesn't mean it's not popular. A lot of people can't be bothered to comment or follow.

3) Network. Talk to other bloggers and get involved. Guest post/ do interviews. If you're not already on it, I suggest joining Independent Fashion Bloggers (http://www.heartifb.com). They have a lot of those opportunities.

As far as your blog currently, I think it's great. The layout is cute and simple. Your posts are short and to the point. And I don't think your camera is bad at all. Your photos are good.

Hope that helped!

Seconding everything S S. said! I don't think its anything to do with your actual blog per-say, but more-so the fact that you only just started your blog less than a month ago so it just hasn't been exposed to enough people yet...it takes time! The best thing to do is read and comment on other people's blogs and also post your newest blog entries here on Beautylish (theres a "latest blog entry" thread on the introduce yourself section). Also...participate in blog hops! There is a great one going on today at http://beautyobsessed2.blogspot.com/2012/04/monday-april-29-2012-blog-hop.html!

As for comments, many people may follow your blog entries but not necessarily comment (my blog had over a hundred followers when I was still using Google Friend Connect, but only a couple comments on average per post). Hope that helps and best of luck with your blog!

Going to check out and follow your blog now :)

Your blog is really good, you write about interesing things and you get straight to the point (unlike me lol!) I will be honest and say that at first I got really disheartened by my lack of followers and comments, but then I noticed that I was actually getting a lot of page views. It takes time to build up readers and followers, well it did for me anyway. Blog hops are a great way of getting new follwers, also make sure you tweet all your latest blog posts and add the #bbloggers hash tag. Also try to take part in the #bbloggers topic on sundays at 8pm, it's a great way of interacting with other beauty bloggers!

Don't give up! x

You may also want to join HelloCotton.com I have had a lot of people follow and comment thru there and they have a very nice set up so you can interact with other bloggers. I didn't have much luck with bloglovin' either.

Well, for me personally, you don't write about anything I'm interested in, so your blog wouldn't be a blog I'd look at daily.

Like others said, just keep working to get your blog out there and let it be known.

I'm new to blogging myself, and trust me, I get majorily disappointed but I'm not about to give up. Here are some things you might consider:
Holding giveaways
Reading other blogs that have a lot of traffic and are geared towards your same audience. Do whatever they're doing!
Keep at it
Make sure you have tons of relevent tags so your blog can show up in search engines!
And yes, networking. It's hard bc i work fulltime, make youtube videos, write on other blogs, AND try to keep my facebook fans engaged, but I don't think anything worth anything is easy. All in all, keep posting on other blogs and visiting us here. We'll keep up with your blog. I just subbed! xoxo

thank you thank you thank you! :))

You've only had your blog for less than two months so you shouldn't even be worrying about this! You should work on your content and worry about writing instead of gaining attention from readers. Especially since you've only had your blog about two months, there's really no substance to your blog yet, and you still need to give it a chance to grow! If you have just a few posts, any reader looking at your blog won't have the chance to bond with your tone when writing because you have little information out. It took me at least 3 months before I even received my first sub, and even then, you shouldn't let numbers affect what you're doing if you're passionate about it. If you do it for numbers and "attention" - readers can tell and they won't be interested at all.

Try writing about something no one really knows about yet... if you have topics that can be easily found on other ppl's blog sites, you're not going to stand out. I find reviews on products aren't really interesting when the product has been out a long time and there are loads of other resources to find information on that product VS. going to someone's blog for. [Would you rather read a review on a site like MUA or Beautylish where everyone's opinions are together or read just one person's point of view on it? Let this be what determines whether you should write a review on a product or not...]

Try sticking with relevant reviews on NEW products instead... tutorials are fantastic ways to get subs, FOTD posts, etc. I'm not a big fan of "giveaways" because then you're just bribing people for subs, and the majority of people that do giveaways when starting out are not doing it because they're passionate about what they write about. They're looking to up their numbers for sponsorships and freebies from companies. Sure, it's much slower getting any hype generated over your blog, but at least you can say you've earned your subbies LEGIT and you're not a sell-out. If you wanna cash in on all of your hard work later with sponsorships, that's fine [no one is going to hate you for being paid for what you love doing!], but at least start w/ humble beginnings first.  =)

I looked at your blog when I started following you on here, and I did read stuff. I have a blog but I really don't keep up with it, I think I got too frustrated trying to make it look nice and I guess it's more for personal reasons anyway. Lol but I will be sure to follow you since I was interested in what you posted about (:

Even though they say you can't judge a book by it's cover I do. Photos are the things that catch me and get me to take a closer look. 1, I'd prefer to see original photos rater than ones just copy and pasted form online. 2, Larger photos will catch the eye better. plus after spending hours on the computer my eyes are already strained so bigger photos are easier to see.

Also try making your blog stand out by tweaking or customizing the layout and template design. It's hard to be memorable if it's just like everyone else.

I agree with Ashley K HelloCotton.com makes your blog more assessable and easier to interact with other bloggers.

I agree with Nikki B. Try to stay away from photos taken from online. Really good quality pictures attract your readers. Also it takes time, you are still new, readers will come as they become more engaged. You can't rush it :)
