If you mix them that's fine, I just (on a personal opinion) would want to be careful about often you wash your hair since the Ion is semi-permanent so it may wash out faster than the Loreal hicolor :)

I was thinking about just using the color brilliance as touch up. When I need to.

Do not mix those!! you could mix the hilights magenta with the highlights red, but not two different brands of color! I would do the highlights magenta all over then when it starts to fade freshen it up with the ion brights red! I used to work at sallys for 2 years and know these brands very well! best of luck it'll look awesome (:

NO, you can't mix those dyes one is permanent and has to be mix with a developer (peroxide) and the ion is semi-permanent it shouldn't be mix with anything, only conditioner when applying it. Which color are you trying to achieve? if you want red get both red. when retouching use the permanent and to freshen up use the ion.
