Advice on Setting Up a Beauty Blog

Hello there! I wasn't really sure what category to post this in, so I hope I'm in the right place! Haha.

I was wondering if you had any advice on setting up my own beauty blog, what sort of things people look for and how to write a good review, etcetera? Obviously the main idea is to post what I want and love but any tips would be absolutely lovely! Also, what would you suggest as the best blogging platform? I've herd that Blogger is most used within the beauty blogging relm ;)

Thankyou!<3

Yay! New Beauty Bloggers! :D
When I look at blogs I love seeing DIYs and reviews. People also like consistency. I am not that great with keeping up with my blog (I lean more towards my channel) but to keep myself busy I add little "series" (not technically because it's a blog) One thing I do are "wants" its basically a progressive wishlist. You are more than welcome to check out my blog for inspiration. Link below. And while you're at it stop by my channel and let me know what you think. :)

Blogger is user friendly (I use it myself) however Wordpress gives you more control over the layout and design of your content. It depends on how savvy you find yourself with HTML or CSS scripting. Tumblr is a good alternative if your focus is more on FOTD content.

Just use your on voice and have fun with it! If its not fun for you, it most certainly will not be fun for your readers! Be sure to link your blog to your profile so we can all stalk you in admiration! =P

Ps: please note that using any of these will relinquish ownership of your content depending on the terms and conditions of the site. If you want full control and ownership, you'll have to host your own site. =]

Hello fellow UK'er aha :)

Blogger.com is the most used by Beauty Bloggers.

The first thing I would start with it just making it look nice, background or how ever you would like to design etc. If you're just starting out it's probably easier to keep is simple and focus on your content. It's also less confusing haha.

Content is up to you, your blog, your rules. A few blog topics are:

Reviews
Hauls
Nails Of The Day
Tags
Monthly Favourites (March Faves/April Faves)
Face Of The Day (Make Up)
Product Swatches
Hair/Skin Routine
Eyes Of The Day (Eye Make Up)
Pet Peeves
Wishlists (Things you would like to buy etc)
Outfit Of The Day
Update Posts
Book Reviews

They are a few posts I'v seen most on my Dashboard, I hope that helps :)
If you need any advice or help or anything my blog and email address is on my profile

Hey!
I have a blog myself. Although I do not have too many readers yet, I feel it is a way to express yourself creatively. Your thoughts will shine. Don't worry about that. I use Blogger, but I really want to change to Wordpress. I have seen a lot of bloggers doing that, so I am researching on the best method. But Blogger is a great starter tool. When it comes to content, start out simple and work your way up. I started with reviews, then added makeup looks, face of the day or week, then my all time favorite is my late night reviews because that is the time when I am posting a review. Designing my blog, like keeping up with HTML and CSS, is still a challenge for me, but I am learning as I go along and you will too! So just be yourself and take your time. It will work out! :)

If you want to create a blog, use the following tips :

1. Register your domain name
2. design your blog
3. host your blog

First of all, You need to choose a perfect domain name for your blog. It should be short and meaningful. It should be related with your blog content. After selecting a domain name, you have to register it with any of the domain providers like http://www.xnynz.com/domains/search.aspx?ci=1775&prog_id=456858. Design your blog by using web design software and host it to any of the hosting providers in the world to make your blog public in the internet.
