Does anyone else get acne that feels really deep and never really comes to a head, but it swells up really bad like a mosquito bite? I have this and it annoys the heck out of me. Plus they hurt! I'v tried just about every brand of acne washes and creams I could find. I am thinking about getting pills when I go to the dermatoligist? Would that help?

I had this exact problem. Getting pills I'm unsure of, and wouldn't recommend because most likely your doctor will just give you antibiotics. Try slathering one in toothpaste before bed, completely cover it so it can't "breathe" basically, and see how it reacts. I started out with that and gentle, daily exfoliation, drink LOTS of water and stay away from dairy products for a while. Also you could try a deep cleanser like I use, called Neutrogena Clean and Clear Deep Cleanser in the yellow/orange bottle.

@Shelby I'v tried the Neutrogena and it didn't work, but I will try toothpaste. @Em I use coconut oil for just about everythinf else so I might as well try it for acne. Thanks ladies!

That sounds like its caused by hormones, so you should consult your dermatologist about it. They may recommend prescription creams or some sort of pills, store bought products won't get rid of it entirely on their own!

I'm not a dermatologist by any mean but it sounds like hormonal acne. Ask for a prescription topical gel and face wash from your doctor and it should clear up pretty fast :)

I had one like this before & left a ugly scar on my face. Try putting Tea Tree Oil on your acne. I just started using this a few weeks ago, & already see a difference. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-113-TEA+TREE+OIL.aspx?activeIngredientId=113&activeIngredientName=TEA+TREE+OIL&source=2&tabno=2

@Atiyah , I do that too. Plus I add it to preserve my oils I clean my skin with (oil cleansing method ). @Ally R. , I get this too only on chin and it happens once a month. I usually leave them alone ( my mom has them , doctors have said there cyst and not to try and get rid of them ). I sometimes use hot / cold compresses to reduce the pain and swelling.

Here are some tips: bit.ly/Ze1HKQ
But if nothing else helps I definitely suggest seeing your doctor about a prescription for something!

Here's a link to it on the sephora website: http://m.sephora.com/acne-complex-30-day-kit-P375135. Give it a try!--you'll be glad you did!! :)
