I'm super pale, and I feel weird in the summer because everyone, including all of my friends are tan. But for me, its Mission Impossible. I don't know if I should use a self tanner, or just keep my skin the way it is. Do you prefer pale skinned or tan people?

Go in a tanning bed but only go a few minutes at a time. Start with 5 adding 1 or 2 minutes each time you go. Go for 2 days skip 1 and go 2 more and repeat that routine. I had the same problem. You might burn a tad bit at first but your skin gets used to it after about 5 times of going mine did!

Just be you :) don't try and be like everyone else. It doesn't matter if you have a tan or not. :)

I would advise against using a tanning bed: http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/skin/basic_info/indoor_tanning.htm.

No! Don't do tanning beds! Someone I know died at 22 from skin cancer, leaving behind a baby and her husband because she used tanning beds. Just be who you are! Porcealin skin is absolutley gorgeous! You can still lay out in the sun, but if you burn easily, just use sunscreen.

DONT use a tanning bed unless you want wrinkles and the possible chance of skin cancer. I face the same problem as you and I just use a tanning lotion that you can get from Walmart

If you go tan, it should be for you...and how you feel. Jergens has removed the odor and made a nice, streak free mousse that is an affordable...healthy glow. If not, then embrace it and play up your pale the way pin ups do. Either way..keep that SPF goin' and rock some sunglasses.

I agree with @RozberryJ
It's like impossible for me to tan. I just burn. But I got Jergens (I can't think of the exact name of the product at the moment) and it really does work well.

I love being pale! If I go anywhere in winter I wear 30 SPF at least and 70 SPF in summer! In Victorian, renaissance, and medieval eras pale skin was a sign of beauty and still is in many countries. I'm always like the lightest to second lightest shade in foundation and I get so mad when I have to go a darker shade!

I think if you are naturally tan then good for you. But for people who say tans look healthy it always makes me think "oh yes! Mutilated and destroyed skin cells that could possibly mutate and kill you! So healthy and lovely!"
