I'm determine to get a tinted moisturizer for the summer. Light-wear, Avg. coverage, Protection, that's what I need.. just having a little confidence issue on which ones are really worth the money. My skin type is combination and breaks out here and there. Is there any tinted moisturizer that you know of that leaves a matte finish or non-dewy and doesn't break you out? What tinted moisturizer do you use?

With any tinted moisturizer, you aren't going to get nearly as good of a coverage as a foundation. All of them are pretty light coverage. But I enjoy Tarte's amazonian clay tinted moisturizer, and Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturizer. LM has a bit more coverage.

BTW, I have acne-prone skin as well and neither break me out!

I love theBalm BalmShelter. There's 2.25fl oz in that thing for 25$. And it doesn't give me sheer~ coverage like most TMs. Definitely average coverage for me.

Laura Mercier's oil free is the best!

I actually use Smashbox BB cream in place of a tinted moisturizer. I've been using it for several months now and it hasn't negatively affected my combo/oily skin. For me it has a little more coverage than the traditional TM. I set it with colorless trans. powder from Too Faced and I'm good to go. I do have Laura Mercier oily free moisturizer but now that the FL weather has picked up steam in the temperature department I had to leave it alone because by the end of the day my skin looked like an oil spill had taken place.

You can actually just mix your regular foundation with some moisturizer to make your own :)

Benefits You Rebel is very good! It comes in two shades and blends pretty well to any skin tone. The consistency is great and it moisturizers like no other! The smell also is quite pleasant.

I use the Sephora brand. I don't wear foundation. Ever. However, my skin needs a lil help and I think a tinted moisturizer is perfect for that. I have oily skin and tend to breakout from time to time, but this stuff doesn't affect my skin at all. If you wear it alone it looks a bit oily (though it says oil free), but when paired with any kind of powder over it, it's perfect. Absolutely perfect! It also somehow covers my blemishes very well for being a barely there product....and it's also got an spf of 15.

I'm seconding the BB cream. I think you should look into those, especially if you have acne prone skin. They give great coverage AND protect your skin from the sun. These things were originated to help people recover from chemical peels. If you've got skin problems... these are your answer. I have been wanting to get my hands on one for awhile now and can't wait to get one for summer!

I use and am HIGHLY loyal to the Laura Mercier Oil Free tinted Moisturizer. i live in FL so as one of the girls here stated it can get oily, but I actually use a MAC loose finishing powder (it's the one that is cooling, has a cool effect when applied to face and has a slight dewy finish which I Love) which I use to help keep the laura mercier in place and from melting from my face on hot summer days. i went to the everglades and spent the entire time there...Laura with finishing powder...my makeup was flawless the entire time.

Again Long post sorry..but yeah Laura Mercier is amazing!

@Pajai: I wouldn't recommend a western BB Cream. They're all overpriced, overglorified tinted moisturizers. If you want to try a *true* BB Cream, try an Asian brand like Missha, Skin79, or Skinfood, among others.

@Shelly T. Not everyone can use the Asian BB creams. I've tried the one's listed above and they made my skin look like death warmed over and it made my skin react in a negative way (acne breakout). I'm glad that the American brands came up with alternatives for those who cannot wear the true BB creams especially of those with deeper skintones. Unless these "true" bb creams come out with a better shade selection I'll be sticking to my western BB cream.
