Ok so normally, I paint my natural nails with my desired color but that doesn't last and the chipped look is so unflattering. With that being said, I started getting acrylic nails and was pleased with the look I achieved and the color didn't chip as usual. Only bad thing is that it was damaging towards my natural nails, they are so weak & brittle and it's all because of the acrylic. The way the acrylic is removed is also damaging because my nails are soaked in acetone and then the nails are filed off. After that, I reverted back to using my Sally Hansen SalonEffects Nail Stickers, which I love by the way but has limited designs & Color. Now, my question is what are some better alternatives to having nice looking nails and having the polish stay on (I use top coat). PLEASE HELP!!

@Lily I'm not sure that my manicurist uses it but what would you recommend?

Always try to use a base coat when you paint your natural nails it helps the polish to stick better and prevents staining. Acrylic will ruin your nails and make them thin and brittle make sure you trim your nails regularly and massage hand cream or oil into your cuticles every night before bed. Good luck sweets. :)

Before using a base coat or any polish clean nails with alcohol or lemon to remove oils from the nails and cuticles.

Try the KISS brand nail stickers. they are thicker than sh and last way longer for me. also good way to protect your weak nails while they grow out.

Gelish Gel Polish Gel Color or aka Shellac. It's not as damaging and will not chip it'll also harden on top of your nails will help your nails stay strong and grow out. Always make sure you soak long enough and never let anyone drill it off of you. It will last you so long.
