I'm thinking about investing in a good foundation, and you guys seem to be really fond of MAC, which one would you recommend? Since they're pretty expensive I'd like to hear your opinions.

If you think another brand is better, please say so, I'd like to have a medium coverage, but I don't want it to look cakey, I've got a combination skin.

I've tried mac and liked it at first... but when I tried other high end I realised it kinda sucks for the price it sells for. its cakey and, for me who has pretty clear skin, it really didnt sit well. I have Mufe HD and its wayyyy better. but my top top fave high end is Nars Sheer Glow its awesome... it looks so natural but gives awesome coverage too. I got a pretty big sample and I've decided that that is my next makeup investment:)

I must agree with lara...I as well liked mac at ' first but it made me break out and it gave me a cakey look around my t zone and mouth area now IM trying out Cover girl outlast 3 in 1 and mary kay...I like the outlast so far ,it's on my face the whole day even on hot days...

I really like my Mac foundation :) I've tried sooooo many foundations and my Mac studio fix foundation is amazing! I finish it with mineralize Skinfinish and the finished result looks very natural and it also matches my skin tone perfectly! I have dry, acne covered skin and My foundation lasts me all day long! It lasted me 8 hours in 78+ degree weather at Sixflags recently. It's just awesome. Of course I also use primer (Ulta matte prime) and Mac's studio finish cream concealer :) I really just love my Mac <3

Oh and it doesn't cake, or get shiny (on my skin, anyways) and it always looks natural and has medium coverage. It does transfer just a bit of I talk on my phone though but not near as bad as some of the other foundations I have tried.

I've tried the Studio Fix foundation from Mac and absolutely hated it. I heard that the face & body foundation from them is recommended, but I've never tried it myself. You might want to read up some reviews on that. For high-end foundations, I personally like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Shiseido Perfect Refining foundation. Light & natural. :)

I tried mac studio fix foundation and it made me looked washed out as if I'm sweating but I'm actually not.. didn't like it now I use Mary Kay matte foundation or maybellines dream mousse foundation
