Hi Beautifuls!
The last color I got from a hair stylist I just found, out did not use a permenant color on my hair and also did not use the brand Redken. The last time I had it done was semi color and after 3 days I washed my hair and tons of color came out for 3 days. I am not going back to her again. When I called her I was very happy and loving to her asking questions. She really wanted to avoid any questions I was asking her.
So my question to you is, is Redken better than any other color brands? This time I am diffentely going to get a permenant color. But I do not know other brands that is just as good as Redken. I would love to know your suggestions and any knowledge or your experience. I loved my last color my hair stylist used before I moved to another city.
Thank You!! :))

You could always ask the hair stylist you used to use! I hate it when someone does your hair & there's problems, then they don't want to help :( I don't know about brands though, I always dye my hair with stuff from sally's by myself! Good luck!

What is your reason for coloring? I only ask since you said you wanted permanent. That could be gray coverage you're looking for, which in that case permanent is very important. I work with redken color. Their shampoo's I don't like one bit. Their color, I do like a lot. However, they have a lot of different lines. If you're looking for a good one that's permanent, find a salon that uses the Redken Chromatic's line. It's still reasonably new, but wow is it amazing!! So much shine and the tonal value last SO long...even on red heads. I've been really impressed.
I doubt Tocco Magicco is even in many salons, but that one tends to be quite dark.
If you're looking at other brands, the only other one I've worked with is Aveda, which I don't like too much. First of all your stylist needs to be a total expert on Aveda color because their color is mixed completely different from any other color line. Plus, I've never seen lasting color, even in their permanent colors. They tend to fade really fast.
I do agree that goldwell is good. I've never personally worked with them, but work I've seen on other people looks great. Also I do like Paul Mitchell. Haven't worked much with the colors, but the couple of classes I've done with them, the manniquins I've put their color on did turn out to have a pretty color and nice dimension. I can't say I know how long it lasts though.
I'm happy to answer any and all questions for you though! :]

Hi Megan! Thank you so much for your information. Yes this is to color the grey. I wrote down the name you gave me for the Redken product. I love Redken. My hair is very healthy, but this coloring from Redken made my hair so soft and shiny and healthy looking. The only styling product I use is the ironsilk. :)

You're most welcome! :] Yes, since it's grey, Redken would be a great choice. And if your grey's want to be stubborn and not fully take the permanent color (as some of those little guys have minds of their own and don't want to soak it up..) they also have a grey coverage line...(the Chromatics I was telling you about also has this grey coverage line) so therefore, no matter how stubborn those greys are, you will be covered!
And please, feel free to ask me anything at all on my page...that is why I do youtube and other social sites..love sharing info with people! :]

Redken's demi will seem like a lot washing out at first, but it really does last up to 8 weeks. They also have a new cream line of demi, if your not altering your level much its an awesome product. It's the only color line I use on myself. Its acidic vs ammonia, which will give you more shine n gloss.

My old hair stylist used Redken hair dye semi color. It lasted just as long as a perm. I asked why she used semi she said its better for your hair & unless you have grays lots of salons don't use perm. I followed her at every salon she worked in & other dyes were italian brands & only used semi.

Megan, after the hair stylist covers all the hair with the permenant color, is it an option to put us under the dryer for a time? My old stylist always put me under the dryer with the coloring was still on, then after a time she washed it out. This past one never put me under the dryer. Thank you for all your answers. I love learning! :)
