I used to have the same problem, and it was soo frustrating! So I'm NC45 too, and I did a whole youtube video on my channel about lipsticks for brown skin (reds, pinks, neutrals, plums, and brown). It's a mixture of brands so... I hope it helps!

Lovelorn, Lustering, Plumful, Sophistico, Speak Louder & Sweetie all come to mind. More rosy, plum-pink based rather than 'soft'.
