Just wondering if anyone has tried it personally. if you haven't tried it, then don't bother answering. You never actually know unless you try!

I know you said don't reply if you haven't tried, but I can't sit back and not say anything. Elmers glue is not something that was made to be used around the eye area, and eyes are very sensitive, so personally, I would advise against it.

I have used it once it was a little runnier than eyelash glue and take a little longer to dry. Other than it works be careful you don't get it in your eye when your putting it on or taking it off also don't rub your eyes at all!!

It shouldn't be bad every once in a while, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use since it isn't designed to be used around the eyes. :)

"... then don't bother answering." Nope. It's an open forum, everybody gets to contribute.

Elmer's glue is a polyvinyl acetate adhesive. It isn't inherently dangerous, but exposure in the eye can cause irritation, allergic responses, and other problems (clogged ducts, loss of eyelashes). It dries hard and is not flexible like latex-containing eyelash glues, and would not be well-suited for use on falsies. It would also likely ruin the false eyelashes after removal. Most importantly, if you do have an adverse reaction and need medical attention, your health insurance likely will refuse to cover your treatment because using white glue on your eyes is an intentional misuse of the product per the product label.

Have some common sense people. Don't risk injuring your eyes; just go without falsies until you get actual eyelash glue.

Heh. I'm sorry. I just think its funny how so many girls in the beauty department are completely brainwashed and very caught up in all these lies the "beauty experts" are telling you. Really, they just want your money. Not your satisfaction.

I'm not just saying the glue per se, just in general. It's good to be open minded, that's all.

I am also one of the people who are trying to give real, scientific answers to threads on Beautylish and refute the jargon constantly spouted by those looking for a buck (or have bought into the ones looking for a buck). Unfortunately many people consider it an attack on the beauty industry if you mention any scientific results that are in conflict with whatever a particular brand has to say. A lot of people seem to think that anecdotal evidence is superior to objective scientific studies and research, especially if they have bought something based on anecdotes and don't want to admit that what they are experiencing is an illusion.

If I am posting about something that has medical implications especially, I will do research before posting and try to demonstrate reliable sources to back my post up. Otherwise, you have a community of people who call you "mean" and claim that you are just trying to be contrary when in fact you are trying to ACTUALLY be helpful.

Really? Do you people KNOW how bad latex can be? And your knocking elmers glue?? Isn't it non toxic? As in " can be ingested and you will not die". Also, look at how many people use elmers glue sticks to cover their eyebrows with no irritation. Most lash glues and lash glue removers are chemical cocktails that you absolutely cannot get in your eye and if you do it BURNS. Elmers probably wouldn't feel fantastic but I doubt it would be as bad as lash glue. Further more its water soluble so all you would need to do is wet the band with a q tip or something and the lashes should slide right off. You could then easily clean them with water and baby shampoo to reuse.

I have once and it felt like using regular eyelash glue, nothing happened, it kept my lashes on but everyone's different. I would recommend to try to just keep it out of your eyes.

I have tried. Worked pretty good. But it doesn't have to be Elmer's glue. One time I was getting my makeup done for a play and my makeup artist ran out of glue/adhesive. Instead of buying more glue since we didn't have much time to spare, he had his assistant grab a small branch of leaves, broke off the leaves and used the white sticky liquid that oozed out of it. Worked like a charm, and legit natural. He said he used it all the time when he ran out of adhesive. So you can probably use more than just Elmers glue and adhesive, just be sure you know what you're doing.
