Exactly @TinaB!! 😄 Being a hipster isn't for everyone and if you aren't naturally interested in that style than its not for you.

Hipster isn't something to be proud of? The style is more soft alternative, and the term hipster was created to make fun of the mind set that a "hipster" may have.

@ Angel, totally!
I LOVE 1930s-40s "hipster" beat culture... but that was when hipster was NOT a derogatory term. now its kind of an insult and refers to the masses who are making a mockery of what was once the hipster subculture just for image/fashion's sake

There's a girl on YouTube that I enjoy the videos of, and she put it best I think. She said that if you have to think about it all the time and wonder "is this (insert style?" "Am I being (style) enough?", then it really isn't you. Finding your style is experimenting with unlabeled things, dressing in a way you feel good and comfortable. Eventually you may stumble across a label that reflects your own style perfectly, but you shouldn't choose one thing and say "I want to be that." That's limiting yourself. You're quite young, you have years to develop still. Just choose things you like, regardless of what anyone else says. You'll come into your own eventually :)
Good luck! x

"Hipster" is NOT a look. It's a lifestyle that is constantly made fun of. Dressing like you just rolled out of bed and didn't take a shower or even comb your hair, is NOT cute. I think the look your going for is more "soft alternative" like Angel said. I'm assuming you like high waisted cut off shorts and crop tops, which is always cute! You can pair it with a small wedge, appropriate for your age, or a pair of vans classics and maybe a cute head ban.

Don't do it. Don't try and have any one look just wear what makes you feel good!

Don't try to act or look like a hipster. You'll be constantly made fun of. I go to an arts school. I've seen too many "hipsters" and they're just not fun people and no one likes them. Just don't do it.

If you mean a Tumblr looking look, I'd go for Thrift shopping. No joke. Ross, Goodwill, Nordstrom Rack (this isnt exactly thrift but same idea) Go for peices no one else might wear. don't spend too much on clothes or going for 'in' clothes. be yourself, too! that can REALLY make you stand out!
