So a week ago I started having peeling on my fingertips and it's only gotten worse with time. My hands feel tight, hot and uncomfortable. Just recently, I've noticed this on my feet too! Haven't changed any soaps or shampoos or anything. Don't mind my chipped polish. Does anyone know what this is?

It looks like athletes foot on your feet... Could be possible to get it on your fingers, too...

Does it get chapped like that? My fingers were peeling before my feet

Yeah I don't have much time in my schedule to go to the doctor, that's why I asked here. I just wonder if it's serious. The skin feels hot to touch

It's not itchy, which is odd, just tight and uncomfortable.

Yeah my hands and feet are giving off a lot of heat and they feel swollen.

Only problem is I can't really miss any more days at work. And getting into the doctors takes a little time. Is it serious enough to go to the doctor?

Multiple people have said yes. No reason to be redundant.

Go to the doctor! Your job is not more important than your health. You don't know what it is and you could lose your hands and feet. Go to a clinic they can see you immediately or the er.

It could be an allergic reaction. I had the exact same thing happen when I was prescribed macrodantin for a UTI, only to find out that I'm allergic to that type of antibiotic. Are you on any meds or have you tried any new foods/drinks recently?

Any infection near a nail bed is very risky. Go to the doctor. Make time for it. It could cause major complications if you let it go.

Honestly it kind of looks like Reynauds. Do they turn bluish/purple sometimes too?

My friend gets that. And she uses Aquaphore it could be a type of excema.

Psoriasis?

I would try aquaphore and putting some ice on it to see if the swelling will go down. But if its still like that then you should really try to see a dr. If you have to bring a drs note so your work can't say anything ;P I had problems with my work and getting time off to see the dr. Once I went they thought I had an ulcer and put me on 5 pills a day and I just had a camera down my throat and into my tummy! So I really think health is more important. But I also wait things out sometimes lol.

One of my friends has something at the moment that looks exactly the same.. She went to the doctors and they said it was excema.. She uses ice packs on her feet for a little while in the evening just to sooth it and uses lots of cream like E45 or something like that.. She got cream from the doctor too but its prescribed so if you can't get to a doctor you won't be able to get any of that. Hope this helps (:

Thank you for all the help, I'm wondering if it could be eczema because my nose and lips are extremely dry at the moment. I haven't tried new food and no blue or purple skin. I just got back from a trip to nashville, my fingers were peeling before I left. I wonder if the dry air on the plane made it worse or if walking around town in the heat made things worse

Becca, I thought it was eczema. Mine just flares up on my feet recently. Have you had it before?

If it is eczema, the best product I use is the eczema cream that aveeno makes for babies.

But I agree with everyone, go to the doctor. I love talking to my friends in the field about the world of medicine and health, but I'm no doctor.

At least no one diagnosed you with lupus

I bet you have an infection or are having an allergic reaction to something you are putting in your body.

Brianne, no this has never happened before. I'm going to go to the doctor on monday because I'm off work that day.
