Being goth isn't how you look, don't be the mainstream goth, be your own goth because there are no rules to it.

You have to be goth by heart. Don't just be goth to be goth.

I have never shopped at hot topic or Spencer's or anything. Dress how you want. Be your own definition of goth. That's the best advice I can give you.

I create my own bondage capris, skirts and pants with zippers, buckles, chains, etc. from stuff I hunt down on sale that's dark and simple, but has a good cut and or when I love the fabric, etc. Personalizing clothing is a fun and creative outlet, plus you get to create something unique. I tend to lean toward metal, rockabilly and psychobilly, but I do rock some goth as well. Picked up some great stuff from the places listed below. They are a few of my favorite sites that have some sweet goth goodies. Hope you find something ya dig.

Goth here!
If you're new to being goth, please please PLEASE visit gothiccharmschool.com
It's run by a very wide elder goth who gives wonderful advice to all people, and has a bunch of links to different clothing shops. If you can find her book, she gives a list of the basics of a goth wardrobe.
For makeup, I would look on YouTube at:
BatcaveDilemma, SebastianColumbine, xSyntheticDoll and kazlovesbats. They're all lovely girls with a variety of looks and good style.
I shop at thrift stores and buy basic clothing that can be styled in multiple ways. You can always talk to me on my profile as well! :)
Good luck!

Go to any store. They have items that Goths might like. Just look for things that appeal to you.
