That happened to me too when I got my legs waxed. I though it was from the hair follicle being irritated bc the hairs were ripped out, but mine never went away and I had my legs waxed a month ago :/

Oh wow! Victoria, did you do it yourself or at a salon? I've waxed my friends before, but none of them ever had a reaction like mine, so I'm not entirely sure what to do :/

Went to a professional. I googled waxers in my area... She had over 100 five star reviews... I went and she was this little old lady who looked like she weighed 70 lbs... Anyways she missed large patches of hair that I had to keep pointing out... Overall I was not impressed with the experience. The red dots are not as bad anymore but I can still see them, especially near my ankles. I think a tan would help, bc my legs are very pale?

I know it's weird but I actually checked my strips to make sure I was actually getting the whole hair, I was hoping the follicles has broken and that's it. It's probably more accurate that I should use something for more sensitive skin... We'll see how it goes! Thanks for the advice, Alexandra!
Luckily, Victoria, I'm fairly tan, hopefully it won't show so much? :P

It's normal to get red spots after you wax because you're pulling the hairs out from their root. The same thing happens when you use an epilator. It should fade away after a while though! I have been waxing my legs and bikini line for ages and still get red spots for about an hour or so afterwards. It will probably help to make it less obvious if you had tan legs, but don't tan them right after you've waxed! Wait a few days:)

You can also get lotion specifically for after waxing, that helps soothe the skin and reduce redness:)

Have you tried getting an epilator? I used to wax my under arms but invested in an epilator and it saves me money and is way better than waxing! it works for the legs too

I own the Gigi wax pot and it can get REALLY HOT. What setting do you have it on? You could have a minor burn which will heal on it's own or you can use a bit of greek yogurt to soothe it. Also are you using all the correct tools? A wax oil, powder and muslin strips? What type of wax? The Gigi pink one (sorry - I don't know the name off hand) is the most gentle yet the honey is most common. Hopefully this helps! Good luck!

This looks normal especially after your first time. The reason your legs look this way is because when the root bulb is pulled out of the pore, it stretched the pore which has created the peri-follicular erythema. The root bulb is much thicker than the pore itself, but over time with more and more waxing procedures the root bulb will become much finer, making waxing much easier and less uncomfortable.
The redness on the rest of the skin is also normal because as you wax, the sticky wax also removes and dead skin cells (exfoliates) which is very stimulating to the surface of the skin. Try not to scratch the area and use a cold compress if you feel it is getting itchy.
