Instead of putting makeup over it, do what Emma and Samantha said and then put a spot treatment on it.

The best thing for that would be a gel (or spray that works good 2) called Vetericyn. I use it on everything from bites to strep throat! It is expensive but I figured out the animal kind works for humans and is cheaper.
