So I'm not sure if it was a medicine I was taking or position ivy or something, but I have a weird sort of rash on my cheeks. It just won't go away. I don't think it's acne. I've never had acne and its not common in my family. Do any of you have tips for getting rashes to heal or soothe? Thanks.

I just had one on mine that I suspect was an allergic reaction. 2 days of no face products and Organic Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil and it was gone, baby, gone. Soothing. I also took a Benadryl for good measure.

I actually phoned my dermatologist to check if she thought Coconut Oil would be okay on my irritated face, even though I regularly use for moisturizing or removing make up, and she gave it the green light.(that was for Organic, Cold pressed Extra Virgin). I was very specific when I asked her. She also told me if the oil didn't provide relief, I could snag an over-the-counter low dose tube of Cortaid (not Extra Strength) and apply that before bed...and that I should rinse with cool water and avoid the sun. The dermis is raised due to inflammation most likely (if this is an allergy/irritation) and cortisone and Benadryl help that. The itch may be from the flesh being dried out.
The coconut oil worked so well with the Benadryl that I ended up not needing the cream..and any time I can avoid meds, I'm elated! It could be dermatitis due to an irritation, but if you don't see a significant improvement within a few days, I'd see my doctor. I also put my hair up and pinned it away from my face to keep it from causing abrasive irritation. I was so itchy before the oil! *shakes fist* Now it's supa doopa hydrated and rash free. :)
